JHS Seniors: BSO Ivy Foundation Scholarship Eligibility: Graduating senior of a metropolitan Oklahoma City area high school. A GPA ≥ 2.5. Preference is given to females. Preference is given to students attending historically Black colleges. Funds may be used for educational-related expenses such as tuition, fees and books at any academically accredited two-year, four-year or vocational technical nonprofit institution in the United States. Payments are made directly to the school. No more than six credit hours may be completed online each semester. The BSO Ivy Foundation Fund was established in 2004 to support the Beta Sigma Omega Chapter charitable scholarships and gifts. This is an endowed scholarship fund of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation administered in conjunction with the BSO Ivy Foundation. JHS Seniors: The Western Oklahoma Building Trades Scholarship is now open . Applications must be submitted by March 1, 2022. Detailed information about the scholarship is below along with the link to application page. www.occf.org/scholarships. Please know that applicants must complete a General Application before applying to specific scholarship opportunities. Think of the General Application as setting up a Student Profile. Submitting a General Application does not mean that an applicant has applied for any scholarships. Please do not hesitate to be in touch with us should you have any questions about this scholarship: scholarships@occf.org. Eligibility: Union members, their spouses, or their children. A spouse must be currently eligible to be on a union member's insurance. A child is defined as a birth child or legally adopted child who is a tax dependent and currently eligible to be on a union member's insurance. A dependent who is eligible at the age of 23 remains eligible to apply if they are continuously enrolled in college. Traditional applicants must be concurrently enrolled Oklahoma high school seniors, or a recent high school graduate who has completed two semesters of full time academic or technology courses or students continuing academic study after high school with one year of completed college. Non-traditional applicants can be a union member or the spouse of a union member seeking to improve the quality of life through traditional training/study in a full-time academic or vocational program (20 years of age or older). The Western Oklahoma Building Trades Scholarship Fund was established following the April 19, 1995 bombing of the Murrah Federal Building to provide scholarships for union members, their spouses or their dependents.

JHS SENIORS: SEE THIS INFROMATION FROM OU REGARDING DEADLINE EXTENSION FOR MERIT BASED SCHOLARSHIP CONSIDERATION: Wednesday was our final scholarship admission deadline. Although our community service and leadership scholarships have closed, we decided to extend our application deadline for students to be considered for academic, merit-based scholarships. The extended deadline of Dec. 31 will allow students ample time during their winter break to submit their OU applications. The only item the student must submit by Dec. 31 to be considered for these scholarships is the application. Please get your applications complete and submitted

JHS SENIORS: Pete & Lela Stavros Scholarship Eligibility: Graduating Oklahoma high school seniors who are children and relatives of Oklahoma firefighters who are members of the Oklahoma State Firefighters Association (active or retired). All application materials will be reviewed by the Pete and Lela Stavros Educational Foundation and the Oklahoma State Firefighters Association to verify the applicant’s relationship to an Oklahoma State Firefighters Association member. Funds may be used for educational-related expenses such as tuition, fees and books at any academically accredited two-year, four-year or vocational technical nonprofit institution in the United States. Payments are made directly to the school. No more than six credit hours may be completed online each semester. The Pete and Lela Stavros Educational Foundation was established following the retirement of Pete Stavros as director of legislation for the Oklahoma State Firefighters Association. Scholarships given by the Pete and Lela Stavros Educational Foundation honor his career and service as a firefighter and promote the couple’s interests in providing educational opportunities for the children of Oklahoma’s firefighters. A permanent endowment fund was established at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation in June 2002 and continues to receive contributions from association members across Oklahoma. JHS Seniors: The University of Oklahoma's application deadline to be considered for academic, service, or leadership scholarships is quickly approaching! Our final scholarship admission deadline is December 15*. Any students who may be interested in OU need to submit their applications ASAP. As a reminder, students only need to submit their applications by December 15. They can send their additional materials, like their ACT/SAT scores (optional but encouraged), letters of recommendation, high school transcript, and application fee at a later date. JHS Seniors and Parents Oklahoma City Community College will be hosting a FAFSA Night next Thursday December 16th from 7-8pm. Join a representative from OCCC's Financial Aid office for our zoom event. We will cover how to fill out the FAFSA and answer any questions you have about the FAFSA.
