JHS Seniors completing College Applications for Admissions:
Please make sure you are thorough in answering all application questions. On most applications the Leadership and Service Essays are optional. My advice is to complete these optional essays. These essays are used to select for Leadership and Service scholarships which are some of the most lucrative scholarships at most universities.
JHS Seniors interested in Military and College:
The University of Oklahoma has both Army ROTC and Air Force ROTC. You can apply for the Army ROTC Scholarship and/or the Air Force ROTC scholarship. These are full tuition& Fees, Room and Board plus book stipend and a monthly cadet stipend. You participate in ROTC go to school and graduate as an officer and have military commitment upon graduation. THESE scholarships are open right now and are highly competitive. Congratulations to JHS Junior, Paige Petty. She was selected as our Sophomore of the Year last year by our local Kiwanis. As our local winner she was entered into Texas-Oklahoma District 40 Sophomore of the Year competition. She was selected as Sophomore of the Year for District 40. She was presented her award and $600 scholarship tonight at the Kiwanis District 40 meeting!

Now more than ever, it’s crucial that students learn about elected officials who were guided by their conscience to make decisions for the greater good. Student Board Program
BancFirst-Jones
Fall/2022-Spring/2023
The purpose
of the BancFirst Student Board Program is to allow students a first-hand view
of the operations of a bank, how a bank serves as an important community
partner and allows students personal growth opportunities. Students will gain
knowledge early in life regarding the importance of protecting their credit,
banking issues, and other financial information. Additionally, students will
give input into their banking needs and other topics that will help them plan
for the future.
INFORMATION
Meetings
will be held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, at the library,
12:30PM to 1:30PM. Lunch will be provided. To be eligible, the student must be a senior
in high school with above average grades. Members will be chosen by high school
faculty/staff committee based upon the applications submitted. Applications
must be turned into the counselor’s office by September 27, 2022.
