Two Senior Nights! -Senior Night for Football and Cheer will be September 25th before the game. -Senior Night for Band, Choir, and FFA will be October 23rd at halftime of the Millwood football game. Students in 9th-10th grade: This is your opportunity to sign up for Oklahoma's Promise. If parents make less than 55,000, you take the right courses, make good grades, and stay out of trouble the state of Oklahoma will pay up to four years of your tuition at in state schools. FINALLY, A SCHOLARSHIP FOR ZOMBIE FANS Did binge-re-watching "The Walking Dead" get you thinking about what you’d do if the streets were filled with flesh-eating zombies? Maybe you've envisioned your own post-apocalyptic world overrun with the living dead, forcing you to come up with a zombie survival plan — and quick! Hone your survival tactics and imagine what your school or college campus might be like in a zombie apocalypse. Our Zombie Apocalypse Scholarship committee wants to know your plan to avoid the zombies, where you’d hide, and the top-five things you’d bring to stay alive. We're giving one successful survivor $2,000 towards his or her college education. Do you think you have what it takes to make the cut? Applicants must: Must be 14 years of age or older at time of application.| Must be a legal U.S. resident.| Must be a resident of one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia.| This award is for U.S. students. CheapAutoInsurance.org Commercial Video Scholarship CheapAutoInsurance.org is looking to award a $500 scholarship to a student who creates their best rendition of an auto insurance commercial. The commercial must be an original creation that shows good or bad driving habits. All high school seniors and college students with a 2.5 GPA are eligible to apply. Olin E. Teague Memorial Scholarship To encourage talented young people to pursue careers in the aerospace industry, the National Space Club and Foundation offer resources and scholarships to students. This scholarship is open to all high school seniors. Students must submit an official transcript, one letter of recommendation from a STEM teacher and a five-page research paper discussing a personal aerospace research project the student has conducted. RDC Paving the Way Scholarship RDC Paving believes in helping determined, persistent and hardworking students achieve their goals. Open to all high school and college students, this scholarship requires students to write an essay (1,000 words) explaining why they want a career in a chosen industry and how they plan to be successful in a competitive world. Ruth Abernathy Presidential Scholarship The Society of Health and Physical Educators, or SHAPE, is excited to offer their scholarship program to five rising health professionals. Students majoring in the field of health, physical education, recreation or dance are eligible to apply. Applicants must submit three letters of recommendation, an official transcript and a personal essay that demonstrates their leadership and community service. Horatio Alger Scholarship The National Scholarship is awarded to eligible students in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. National Scholars receive an all-expenses paid trip to Washington, D.C., during the spring of their senior year to participate in the National Scholars Conference. Recipients must attend the National Scholars Conference to receive the award. Jazz Education Network Scholarships Each year the Jazz Education Network recognizes talented, hardworking students with a passion for jazz. A variety of scholarships are offered to full-time high school and college students. There is only one application needed to be considered for multiple scholarships. Eligible students should display a talent for jazz performance or education and should be at least 14 years old. Students must also participate in a jazz class or ensemble during the school year after the scholarship is granted. If a student is 18 years old and up, they must also volunteer at the Annual JEN Conference the year they are nominated.
