If you are a veteran, either active duty, retired, reserve or national guard, The OSSAA would like to invite you to attend the first round of the football playoffs for free next weekend! That’s right, all veterans and one guest will be admitted free of charge on Friday November 15th to all OSSAA first round football games. The OSSAA appreciates the sacrifices of all veterans, and hopes you will take advantage of this opportunity. Simply show your Military ID card, or driver’s license that shows your military status at the gate next Friday, and you and a guest will be omitted free of charge. See you next week, and thank you for your service!

JHS SENIORS INTERESTED IN TULSA UNIVERSITY: TULSA IS SHARING INFORMATION ABOUT THEIR PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP! The Presidential Scholarship covers full tuition for four years (8 consecutive undergraduate semesters total, excluding summers). The deadline for students to apply is January 15, 2020. Students can apply using this special application, which can also be used to apply for the Honors Program, Global Scholars, the Presidential Leaders Fellowship, Early Careers in Community Medicine and the Presbyterian Leaders & Scholars Program. Interested students will also need to have completed the TU application or the Common App by January 15. Presidential Scholarship Requirements To be considered for the Presidential Scholarship, applicants must meet one or more of the following eligibility requirements. • National Merit Semi-Finalists who list The University of Tulsa as School of Choice • National Hispanic Scholars who rank in the top 10% of their graduating class • Students who score in the top 1% on ACT/SAT (or earn a superscore of 33 on the ACT or a superscore of 1450 on the SAT) AND EITHER o Rank in the top 5% of their graduating class OR o Have at least a 4.0 weighted grade point average Presidential Scholarship Interviews All Presidential Scholarship applicants will be notified by January 31 if they have been selected for an interview, are on the waitlist for an interview, or if they are no longer being considered for the scholarship. Students who are selected for an interview will have until February 7 to confirm an interview date and time. If anyone selected for an interview opts not to continue, we will notify students on the interview waitlist accordingly. JHS SENIORS: Commander Family Scholarship Eligibility: • The Commander Family Scholarship can only be used by students who are enrolled in full-time study at an academically accredited institution in the state of Oklahoma. • Graduating seniors from high schools that participate in the Central Oklahoma Guidance Counselor Network • GPA 3.0-3.79 unweighted • Demonstrate leadership and participation in school activities, and demonstrate a desire to work. The Commander Family Scholarship was established in 2001 in memory of A.C. (Gus) Commander by his wife Ruth and son Ed. The Commander Family Scholarship is funded through the Commander Family Fund endowment. JHS SENIORS: Positive Energy Scholarship opportunity for high school seniors in OG&E’s service area OGE Energy Corp. Foundation to award three $15,000 four-year scholarships High school seniors in the OG&E service area have an opportunity to apply for a scholarship that will pay for their college degree. The OGE Energy Corp. Foundation is offering three, four-year Positive Energy Scholarships for up to $15,000 each to students planning to attend college in Oklahoma or Arkansas. “Over four years, the scholarship will pay up to $60,000 of the recipient’s college degree,” said Brian Alford, Director of Corporate Affairs. “It’s an excellent opportunity for students who live in our service area.” The scholarships may be used for tuition, fees, books and/or on-campus room and board. Based on the recipient’s performance, the scholarship will renew annually to provide up to four consecutive years of education. “OG&E understands the importance of education in keeping our communities strong and building a workforce for the future,” OGE Energy Chairman, President and CEO Sean Trauschke said. “These scholarships are part of a long-term commitment to help students in our service area to pursue a college degree.” Applications are open for the three $15,000 scholarships through the Oklahoma City Community Foundation (OCCF). To apply for this scholarship, students should complete a general application and a high school student senior application. To be eligible for a Positive Energy Scholarship, students must: • Be a graduating high school senior from the OG&E service area in Oklahoma and western Arkansas; • Attend a college in the states of Oklahoma or Arkansas; • Have an unweighted cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.25; • Receive an ACT score of greater than or equal to 25 and/or SAT score greater than or equal to 1200. The scholarship places preference on students pursuing a career in an energy-related field. Students in need of financial aid will also be given preference. Eligible students can apply online through the OCCF website until February 1, 2020. Students will be required to provide a copy of their home’s utility bill. Bacone is returning to its historical mission to educate American Indians. As we prepare to transition to a tribal college, we are seeking out all Native students who wish to earn a college degree within a diverse campus community. JHS SENIORS: Delta Theta Chi Sorority, national, non-collegiate educational sorority is accepting applications for three(3) scholarships, in the amount of $1600.00 each Requirements call for the student to reside in the United States, have a high scholastic average, show evidence of financial need, and are currently enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited college. Honoring the legacy and character of our nation’s 40th President, the GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program rewards college-bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with financial assistance to pursue higher education. Each year, the Program selects numerous recipients to receive a $10,000 scholarship renewable for up to an additional three years – up to $40,000 total per recipient.
