
Seattle Marketing Scholarship
The team at Seattle Marketing believes in education and helping students reach their academic goals. They’re offering a scholarship to students who are enrolled or due to be enrolled as a full-time student at a US college or university. There’s no required major or minimum GPA for applicants, however, students must submit a 1,000-1,500 word essay. The essay should explain the applicant’s personal story of the biggest challenge they’ve had to overcome.

MaryKnoll Essay Contest
Pope Francis calls us to build a “Civilization of Love.” Write an essay explaining what you think he means by “a civilization of love.” What signs have you seen during these extraordinary times of people building a civilization of love? How will you build that civilization going forward? Applicants for this contest should submit 500-750 words answering this prompt. Winners are divided into two divisions: grades 6-8 and grades 9-12.
Award Amount: Multiple Awards, $150-$1,000

The James Alan Cox Foundation for Student Photojournalists
Student photojournalists have an opportunity to receive scholarship awards for their work. Applicants must submit photographs or videos that “tell a story.” One suggestion for subject matter is the current COVID-19 crisis. Students should demonstrate how their life at school, at home and in their community has changed. In addition to a portfolio, students must also provide a brief essay, two letters of recommendation and their school transcript. Five digital SLR cameras will be awarded o high school students who submit photography. Only college and graduate students will be considered for monetary awards based on their video work or photography.

Create Real Impact Scholarships
The Create Real Impact Scholarships give students the opportunity to create original work showcasing their ideas to end reckless and distracted driving. Applicants must be 14-22 years of age and should be enrolled full-time in an accredited educational institution. Participants are strongly encouraged to avoid the word “accident” in their applications. Entries focused on drinking alcohol or using drugs and driving will not be accepted. Applicants can produce content in one of four categories: video, music, graphic design or creative writing. Additionally, there will be one Spanish Language Award for a video or graphic design submission that is in the Spanish language.

JHS SENIORS ENTERING COLLEGE OR TECHNOLOGY CENTER IN THE FALL OF 2021: With Fall Break right around the corner, I would encourage all to get with parents and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid(FAFSA). Apply even if you think you will not receive aid. Many scholarships require FAFSA completion to be eligible to receive the scholarship. You also never know, you may be eligible for some Federal Aid. Reminder Jones Students can attend Wichita State and pay in state tuition. JHS students are eligible for all Wichita State Scholarships.
Wichita State Scholarship dates are coming up quickly. Get application for admissions and scholarship applications complete as soon as possible. See links below for more information.
dmitted students are automatically considered for our Freshman Merit Scholarship (no application!). Students are awarded $8,000-$16,000 depending on their GPA/test score combination. The minimum criteria is a 3.25 unweighted GPA AND a 22 ACT OR 1100 SAT. The priority consideration date is November 1, so students must have qualifying test score on file to be considered.
Large scholarship competitions are available for students who qualify to compete. The chart below shows all our scholarship competitions. I’ve also attached a scholarship brochure with detailed information.
