New Opportunities Scholars
Eligibility:
A junior attending a high school participating in the Central Oklahoma Guidance Counselor Network.
Be the first in their family to attend college. For the purpose of this scholarship program, the definition of “first in the family” is that applicant or applicant’s parents, stepparents or grandparents have not attended college.
Unweighted GPA no greater than 3.79.
The Process: If you are recommended by the Scholarship Selection Committee of your high school, you and your parent/guardian agree that you will complete a series of college preparatory activities including:
Work during the summer/fall OR complete community service hours with an approved community based organization between your junior and senior year.
Participating in a college campus visit accompanied by your parent.
Financial Aid and an ACT workshop.
Various assigned activities.
By January 15th of your senior year, your high school guidance counselor must provide certification of these activities to the Oklahoma City Community Foundation. If all of the required activities have been completed, you will receive the documents necessary to claim a one-year scholarship of $3,000. Funds may be used for tuition, fees and books at any academically accredited two-year, four-year or vocational/technical nonprofit institution in the United States. Payments are made directly to the school.

After completing the General Application/Student Profile, applicants must submit the Supplemental Questions (below) to complete the application for the New Opportunities Scholarship:
1. I agree and understand that I must complete specific college preparatory activities, including the completion of the New Opportunities Scholars workbook, before January 15, 2022 to satisfy all of the requirements to receive this scholarship.
2. On the General Application/Student Profile, please make sure the person you requested to write a letter of recommendation on your behalf is a High School Teacher.
3. Did you submit a picture of yourself when you completed the General Application? (NOTE: If you answered "no", please know that a picture is required for this scholarship, and to be eligible for this scholarship you need to return to the General Application/Student Profile section and attach an appropriate picture/head shot.)

To support their innovative efforts, winners get a $5,000 scholarship for school and a $5,000 grant to give to the hunger-related charity of their choice.

The Branch Out Scholarship
Are you passionate about marketing your ideas to others? Lead Roster would like to see your passion in action. The company is looking to award a $1,000 scholarship to the student who creates the most convincing marketing video. JHS Seniors: The deadline for both the Community Foundation Scholars and the Jones High School Scholarship are fast approaching on December 6. Currently, we only have a couple of applicants for each scholarship. The Community Foundation Scholarship is a $3000 award and one is guaranteed to be awarded to JHS Senior. The Jones High School Scholarship is a 2000.00 award and will be awarded to two Jones Seniors. They will only be awarded to qualified applicants. Eligibility:
• The Commander Family Scholarship can only be used by students who are enrolled in full-time study at an
academically accredited institution in the state of Oklahoma.

• GPA 3.0-3.79 unweighted
• Demonstrate leadership and participation in school activities, and demonstrate a desire to work.
The Commander Family Scholarship was established in 2001 in memory of A.C. (Gus) Commander by his wife Ruth and
son Ed. The Commander Family Scholarship is funded through the Commander Family Fund endowment.
Award: $2,500.00

A GPA ≥ 2.5.
Preference is given to females.
Preference is given to students attending historically Black colleges.
Funds may be used for educational-related expenses such as tuition, fees and books at any academically accredited two�year, four-year or vocational technical nonprofit institution in the United States. Payments are made directly to the school.
The BSO Ivy Foundation Fund was established in 2004 to support the Beta Sigma Omega Chapter charitable scholarships
and gifts. This is an endowed scholarship fund of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation administered in conjunction

The Charles C. and Mary Lou Miles Scholarship Fund was established in 2007 by the family to honor the couple’s
