
Picture retakes for JHS are TOMORROW!! These retakes will be for underclassmen as well as seniors. If you were unhappy with the pictures you ordered, bring them back & exchange them for a new packet with your retakes. The photographers will stay until EOC returns in the afternoon. All teachers & staff need to have pictures taken since this is a new company. Also on Tuesday, October 18th, all seniors will take the senior photo on the football field at 11:30. Please wear white!! After this, 13-year seniors will take their picture in the gym. EOC students will be excused for these photos but are expected to get to EOC quickly after photos. Please wear white for all these pictures!!! Freshmen & sophomore class officers will take their pictures at 1 pm that day. SENIOR FAVORITES will take their pictures with Mattie Elerick at a later date.

JHS SENIORS
The Academic Scholars Program, established by the state Legislature and governor in 1988 and operated by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, provides scholarships to academically outstanding students who attend an Oklahoma college or university. The 2023-2024 Academic Scholars application for automatic qualifiers (students qualifying from options 1 and 2 on the list below) is attached. The application will also soon be available online at www.okhighered.org/academic-scholars.
2023 Oklahoma high school graduates may qualify for the program in one of three ways:
1. ACT/SAT Scores
Students may qualify by scoring at or above the 99.5 percentile on the ACT or SAT.
ACT: For fall 2023, the required ACT score is a total sum score of the ACT subject areas of 137.
SAT: For fall 2023, the required SAT score is a total sum score of the critical reading and math subject areas of 1520.
2. Nationally Recognized Awards
Students may also qualify by achieving one of the following designations: National Merit Scholar, National Merit Finalist, or United States Presidential Scholar.
3. Institutional Nominee Slots
Public colleges and universities may also nominate students attending their institution for the program based on criteria established by each institution.

Jones High School Scholarship
Eligibility:
Must have completed their junior and senior years at Jones High School and be a graduating senior from Jones High School.
A GPA ≥ 3.0 and ACT ≥ 19.
Demonstrate participation in at least one extracurricular activity at the high school or in the community.
Financial need is considered.
Funds may be used for educational-related expenses such as tuition, fees and books at any academically accredited two-year, four-year or vocational technical nonprofit institution in the United States. Payments are made directly to the school. No more than six credit hours may be completed online each semester.
The Jones High School Scholarship Fund was established in 2000 by the citizens of Jones to encourage high school graduates to pursue higher education. This is an endowed scholarship fund of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation administered in conjunction with the faculty and administration of Jones High School.

The University of Tulsa Presidential Scholarship worth full tuition until an undergraduate degree is earned.
The deadline for students to apply is February 1, 2023. Interested students will also need to have completed the TU application or the Common App by February 1. An official transcript is needed to complete the application. Students without an official transcript on file with TU as of February 1 will not be eligible.
