
All Jones public schools after school and evening activities have been canceled today, April 30th due to potential severe weather.

Band Concert tonight April 30, has been canceled due to potential severe weather. It has been rescheduled for Monday, May 6th at 5:30 p.m.

Beginning Friday, May 3, students will not be allowed to charge breakfast or lunch in the cafeteria. Please pay any owed balances so books can be closed at end of year.

JHS Students in 9-11 grade interested in Military Academies: Congresswoman Horn is hosting a Service Academy Day on Saturday, May 18th from 10 am to 2 pm at the Oklahoma National Guard Regional Training Institute’s Education Center located at 6500 N. Kelley Ave in Oklahoma City for students from 8th to 11th grade, parents, and educators. The facility is gated, but the gate opens automatically for any vehicle. Please see the attached flyer.

Donna and Harry Kornbaum Scholarship
Eligibility:
Must be a graduate of an Oklahoma high school.
Must have a GPA of 2.0 or greater.
Must be attending or planning to attend The University of Oklahoma.
Limited to age of 25 or under at the time of application.
Preference may be given to students formerly in foster care.
The Donna and Harry Kornbaum Scholarship is a renewable scholarship for up to four years/eight semesters. Recipients must maintain a GPA greater than or equal to 2.0 and remain enrolled as a full-time student at The University of Oklahoma to be eligible for renewal.
Funds must be used at The University of Oklahoma for the cost of tuition, fees, required books and supplies. Payments are made directly to the school. Payments are issued in the following academic year.
The Donna and Harry Kornbaum Scholarship fund was established in 2014 to encourage students to pursue post-secondary education at The University of Oklahoma. This is an endowed fund of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation.

Eligibility:
Applicants must be a graduating senior from a high school that participates in the Central Oklahoma Guidance Counselor Network.
Unweighted GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 OR an ACT score of 25 or greater.
Applicants must be a high school athlete going on to participate in a collegiate sport and have no existing athletic scholarships.
Preference will be given to one male and one female each year.
The Jim Thomas/Bertha Teague Scholarship is a one-time award. Funds may be used for tuition, fees and book expenses. Payments are made directly to the school.
The Jim Thomas/Bertha Teague Scholarship Fund is an endowed fund at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation. The Jim Thomas/Bertha Teague Scholarship encourages graduating high school seniors involved in athletics from central Oklahoma area high schools participating in the Central Oklahoma Guidance Counselor Network pursue post-secondary education degree programs at an accredited college or university offering a two-year or a four-year curriculum.

Ironworkers Local 584 Harvey A. Swift Scholarship
Eligibility:
Must be children, adopted children, stepchildren, grandchildren, adopted grandchildren and step-grandchildren of members or deceased members of Iron Workers Local 584.
Graduating from high school with an unweighted GPA ≥ 3.0 or greater in their senior year of high school.
ACT and/or SAT scores are considered.
Funds may be used for educational-related expenses such as tuition, fees and books at any academically accredited two-year, four-year or vocational technical nonprofit institution in the United States. Payments are made directly to the school.
The Ironworkers Local 584 Harvey A. Swift Scholarship was established in 2002 by the Ironworkers Local 584 and Signatory Contractors. In 2012, the award was renamed in honor of the group’s longtime business manager, Harvy A. Swift.

Donna Vandiver Knapp Piano & Vocal Music Education Fund
Eligibility:
Applicants may be a graduating high school senior or a college freshman, sophomore, or junior.
Applicants must be attending or plan on attending the University of Oklahoma College of Music.
Applicants must have cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Student must be Oklahoma state resident and US citizen.
Two awards will go out each year; one for piano music education and one for vocal music education.
Financial need is considered.
Recipients of the Donna Vandiver Knapp Piano and Vocal Music Education Fund may reapply for the scholarship each year (4 award maximum).
Funds must be used at The University of Oklahoma College of Music for the cost of tuition, fees, required books and supplies. Payments are made directly to the school. Payments are issued in the following academic year.
The Donna Vandiver Knapp Piano and Vocal Music Education Fund is established in 2012 to provide scholarship opportunities for qualified students majoring in music education with an emphasis in piano or vocal music at the University of Oklahoma.

95th Division Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements of Application:
Applicants must be a graduating high school senior.
Applicants must be a descendant of a member of one of the various components** of the 95th Division.
Unweighted GPA greater than or equal to 2.5.
Applicants must plan to attend any fully-accredited, profit or not-for-profit college, university or vocational school offering a two-year or a four-year curriculum in the United States.
Preference for financial need
**"Components" include World War II, or the various transitions of the Division as part of the Army Reserves.
