JHS SENIORS INTERESTED IN WICHITA STATE: Greetings from Shocker Nation! I wanted to reach out regarding important scholarship deadlines, including October 15 for scholarship competition consideration. Students must apply for admission by October 15 to compete for any of the large scholarships through the upcoming competitions. Students may start the process at wichita.edu/apply. Here are additional details for upcoming Scholarship Deadline Reminders to share with your students: • Scholarship Competitions – there are too many too list in this email, but I’ve attached a PDF of the Scholarship brochure which seniors in our system received in the mail. Students must apply for admission by October 15th and apply for most of the scholarships by November 1. Some of them also require students to attend the competitions on November 22nd and/or November 23rd. More information at www.wichita.edu/scholarshipcompetitions • Freshmen Merit awards – these have already started going out to admitted students (no separate scholarship application needed). Our Jones High School Cross Country team finished their Regular Season at the Carl ALbert Cross Country Meet on October 8. Our runners finished strong. They all finished in the top half of the field and Hunter finished 19th and Tabi finished first. Congratulations Longhorn Cross Country and on to Regionals!
