JHS seniors of Hispanic Heritage: Mcdonald’s National HACER scholarship is now open! Eligibility Requirements are:
You’re a high school senior
You’re a legal U.S. resident
You’re younger than 21 years old
You carry a minimum 3.0 GPA
You’re eligible to attend a two- or four-year college or university with a full-time course of study
You’ll disclose other scholarship programs that you’ve applied for
You’ll enroll and attend an accredited institution in the academic year after your selection (verification needed, as scholarship funds are paid directly to the schools)
You have at least one parent of Hispanic heritage

Seniors on Ok Promise: OU has a program called Crimson Commitment! Your OK Promise covers tuition and Crimson Commitment will cover fees up to $8000!! To qualify for Crimson Commitment incoming students must fully qualify for OK Promise; Apply to OU by Feb 1; Be admitted to OU; Complete FAFSA by March 1; Enroll as a full time student each semester.

Juniors and Seniors interested in concurrent enrollment with Rose State in Spring 2020 semester. Mr. Moses now has the ROSE State IETV schedule for Spring 2020 semester. You can start visiting with MR. Moses about scheduling and enrollment for Spring 2020 Concurrent enrollment at anytime. We want to have this process completed by end of October.

Red Ribbon Week is October 28-31. The Jones Against Drugs Club has planned the following Theme Days and Activities for this week to promote a drug free lifestyle.
Monday—Camo Day “Hide From Drugs”
Tuesday-Career Day “ See yourself in a Drug Free Future
Wednesday—Red Day “ Ready to say no to drugs”
Thursday-SPACE?/Tech Day—Being Drug Free is out of this world and Relay the Message_NO Drugs—Dress as favorite Space character and will do a technology day
Friday—Longhorns are Proud to be Drug Free School Pride/Green and White Day

On Monday, Oct. 14, the JMS and JHS Choirs will present their annual Fall Concert @ 6 p.m. in the JHS Commons. Please come out and support these talented students.

Students in 9th-10th grade: This is your opportunity to sign up for Oklahoma's Promise. If parents make less than 55,000, you take the right courses, make good grades, and stay out of trouble the state of Oklahoma will pay up to four years of your tuition at in state schools. Seniors with CDIB card who are planning to go to college in Fall: Check with your tribe about possible scholarships of other educational Assistance.

Seniors looking for scholarships: Remember to check with your employer about possible scholarships through your company. Also have parents check with their employers about scholarships for employees children. For example OKC police department has scholarship application for scholarship for children of their officers. I believe it is through the F.O.P.

JHS seniors planning to go to college in the Fall: You and your parents need to complete and submit Free Application for Federal Student Aid(FAFSA)! This can be done at FAFSA.ed.gov

Our Jones High School Cross Country team finished their Regular Season at the Carl ALbert Cross Country Meet on October 8. Our runners finished strong. They all finished in the top half of the field and Hunter finished 19th and Tabi finished first. Congratulations Longhorn Cross Country and on to Regionals!
