JHS Seniors: THe Lamber-Goodnow scholarship application is open. Applying is easy. Everything you need to know about eligibility and the application is right here. Your essay: Submit a 500- to 750-word essay to scholarship@lambergoodnow.com by or on December 1, each year. Tell us how you are driven to innovate, how you plan to influence progress on any level in any space or how you have already affected positive change with creative thinking. We will choose finalists whose essays may be posted on our website and voted on via social media likes, shares, tweets and +1s. While this may have some influence on the eventual winning essays, it is not the sole basis of our final decisions. Two finalists will be awarded $1,000 scholarships for education expenses at schools of their choice. Eligibility criteria for applicants: Enrolled at an accredited high school, college or university. Please note that all types of colleges, including four-year, community colleges and “junior colleges” qualify for eligibility. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.8. Essay submission must be received by December 1, each year. Other application information: Include your name, email address and phone number in your email. If possible, attach your essay to the email as a Microsoft Word document, including your name, email address and phone number at the top of each page. Graduating seniors interested in majoring in theatre can audition or present their portfolio for review for consideration for freshman scholarships! Students may present in dance, performance, musical theatre performance, costume design, scenic design, stage management, costume technology, stage technology, sound, lighting, or props! This is an excellent opportunity for students from an Oklahoma High School. Detailed information about the scholarship is below. JHS Seniors: The Oklahoma Junior Chamber International (JCI) Senate Club joins the United States JCI organization in presenting scholarships to selected high school seniors. Below you will find a link to the application forms and information. This is a $1000 award. These scholarships will be presented in the late spring of 2020. The application should be completed in its entirety and returned to me postmarked on or before January 24, 2020. Each application will be screened based on appearance, neatness, content, scholastic abilities, extracurricular activities, financial need, and correctly following the directions. The top two (2) applications from Oklahoma will be submitted for national judging. We are very proud that we've presented fifteen national scholarships to Oklahoma students since 2001. Jones High School Scholarship Eligibility: Must have completed their junior and senior years at Jones High School, and be a graduating senior from Jones High School. A GPA ≥ 3.0 and ACT ≥ 19. Demonstrate participation in at least one extracurricular activity at the high school or in the community. Financial need is considered. Funds may be used for educational related expenses such as tuition, fees and books at any academically accredited two-year, four-year or vocational technical nonprofit institution in the United States. Payments are made directly to the school. No more than six credit hours may be completed online each semester. The Jones High School Scholarship Fund was established in 2000 by the citizens of Jones to encourage high school graduates to pursue higher education. This is an endowed scholarship fund of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation administered in conjunction with the faculty and administration of Jones High School. I wanted to reach out regarding important scholarship deadlines, including October 15 for scholarship competition consideration. Students must apply for admission by October 15 to compete for any of the large scholarships through the upcoming competitions. Students may start the process at wichita.edu/apply. Here are additional details for upcoming Scholarship Deadline Reminders to share with your students: • Scholarship Competitions – there are too many too list in this email, but I’ve attached a PDF of the Scholarship brochure which seniors in our system received in the mail. Students must apply for admission by October 15th and apply for most of the scholarships by November 1. Some of them also require students to attend the competitions on November 22nd and/or November 23rd.
