Last year the Tinker Spouses’ Club awarded more than $5,000 in scholarships to dependents of U.S. Military members at Tinker Air Force Base who will be attending a college or a vocational/technical school. Scholarship applications for the 2019-2020 academic year are now available. Please see the application for specific eligibility and qualification requirements.
The scholarship applications may be found on the TSC’s website: www.tinkerspouses.org under "What We Do" or see Mr. Moses for a copy of the application. The application can be submitted via mail or email, but must be received no later than March 1, 2020. Notifications will be sent in April and a scholarship reception for the winners will be held on April 23, 2020

The Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission is inviting Oklahoma youth from ages six to 17 to participate in the state’s 2020 International Aviation Art Contest. The art contest encourages students to reflect on aviation by having them design their artwork based aircraft and this year’s chosen theme, “Flying Yesterday and Tomorrow.”
Artwork will be judged in each of the three age classes based on originality, design, and an aviation and aerospace theme. First, second, and third place winners from each age group will be chosen. Winners receive a certificate and a cash prize, which will be awarded at the recognition ceremony held in March of 2020. Each piece of winning artwork will also be judged at the national and international level. All artwork must be mailed to the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission at 110 N. Robinson, Suite 1200, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73102, and be postmarked by Friday, Jan. 17, 2020.

National Wild Turkey Federation’s Scholarship Program
The National Wild Turkey Federation is pleased to offer their scholarship program to high school seniors. The federation is dedicated to preserving wild turkeys and the tradition of hunting. They would like to award students who share the same passion for hunting and wildlife. Students can apply by submitting a completed application, a copy of their hunting license, and three letters of recommendation.

Novus Biologicals Scholarship Program
Research is a critical component for the development and advancement in the life science community. We want to further scientific achievement by helping students who are interested in developing a career in science.
The Novus Biologicals Scholarship Program is awarded to students pursuing a degree in a science related field twice a year. A $1500 (or international currency equivalent) scholarship will be awarded to one student for the fall and spring semesters. *US, Canada, and European Countries only

2019 Youth Essay Contest
Description, Prizes & Deadline: The NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund continues its yearly Youth Essay Contest celebrating the Second Amendment as an integral part of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
Essays will be judged in two categories: Senior (grades 9-12) and Junior (grades 8 and below), with separate cash prizes awarded to the winners in each category. First place cash prizes are $1,000, $600 for second place, $200 for third place, and $100 for fourth place.
The entry deadline for this contest is December 31. Entries postmarked by December 31 will be accepted. Essay contest winners will be selected and notified in early 2020. All entries become the property of the NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund.
Eligibility: The contest is open to all students enrolled, or who will be enrolled, in an elementary, junior high, or high school during the 2019-2020 academic year, including homeschooled students in an equivalent grade level, who have not previously received a prize in their category. For example, a previous winner in the junior category, who is now eligible for the senior category, may submit an entry.
Format and Contents: All essays should be about 1,000 words, neat, and legible (double spaced, typed preferred). The fund historically receives a large number of entries and the contest is highly competitive. Include your name, age, address, telephone number, school, and grade as well as a statement from a teacher or parent certifying that the essay is your original work.

We want to help the next generation. And of course we love live sports, music and theater. So what better way to celebrate both than by offering a college scholarship to an eligible student who writes a heartfelt story about a live event they went to? That's all you have to do. Send us an original essay about a live concert, game or show you attended, and if we choose you as the winner, we'll award you a $500 scholarship. JHS AMERICAN INDIAN SENIORS INTERESTED IN NURSING:
American Indian Nurse Scholarship Program
The American Indian Nurse Scholarship Award Program (AINS) was started by the NSCDA in 1928 to give students of American Indian descent the opportunity to pursue careers in nursing. The students are expected to return to work among their people to help improve health care. Some students work on reservations, and others find employment in hospitals in areas largely populated by American Indians. Intended originally to benefit females only, the program has expanded to include males and the career goals now include not only nursing careers, but jobs in health care and health education, as well.
The current goal is to grant a $1,500 scholarship each semester, as long as the student remains in academic good standing. The scholarship money is restricted to tuition and specific academic expenses. To meet the financial demands of their education, many students seek additional government grants and subsidies and maintain part-time jobs

JHS JUNIORS AND SENIORS:
The attorneys at Adras & Altig are pleased to sponsor a Criminal Justice Essay Contest to help students with college expenses and to raise greater awareness of the issue of gun violence.
In May 2019, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak signed into law gun safety legislation that was a response to the nation’s deadliest mass shooting which took place in Las Vegas two years ago. A gunman using weapons equipped with bump stocks opened fire on a crowd of concertgoers at a music festival on the Las Vegas strip and murdered 58 people.
The deadly shooting in Las Vegas was not an isolated incident. It was one of 18 mass shootings in 2017. What other sensible gun safety laws should be enacted to protect the public and save lives?
Enter to Win
To enter the Criminal Justice Essay Contest, students should submit an original essay on the following topic:
What would you do to improve gun safety- at school, home, or in public? What/if any laws should be enacted and where/how should they be enforced? What is your idea of a safer society?
Prizes
Adras & Altig, Attorneys at Law will award prizes to three student essayists chosen as winners of the Criminal Justice Essay Contest. The prizes will be:
First Place—$1,500
Second Place—$750
Third Place—$500
Each winner will receive a check from the law firm to be used for education-related expenses.
Eligibility
