Vegetarian Resource Group Scholarship The Vegetarian Resource Group is excited to award $20,000 in scholarship money to graduating high school seniors who have promoted vegetarianism in their schools or communities. The organization understands the amount of work and passion that goes into bringing awareness to the importance of a vegetarian lifestyle and would like to reward the hard work and dedication of three students. Sentient Furniture Scholarship Sentient Furniture strives to infuse artistic ideas and thoughts into their work. They’re passionate about creative thinking and are offering their scholarship program to students who also enjoy using creativity. The scholarship is open to all students enrolled or due to enroll as a full-time student in an undergraduate or graduate program. Students can apply by submitting an essay that describes how they have used their creative talents to excel in their academic careers. Scholars Helping Collars Scholarship Pet Lifestyle and You, or P.L.A.Y., loves to see others show compassion towards animals. The organization is offering their scholarship to high school seniors who are also passionate about working with animals. Students can apply by submitting an essay that described the impact they have made in the life of a rescue animal or animal welfare cause in general. OGE Positive Energy Scholarship The OGE Energy Corp. Foundation would like to encourage students who live in the OG&E service territory to pursue postsecondary education. By offering their scholarship program, the energy company hopes to support future industry leaders. All high school seniors living in the OG&E service area in Oklahoma and western Arkansas are encouraged to apply. National Garden Clubs Scholarships The National Garden Clubs organization does more than just teach you how to have a green thumb, it connects you with people, plants and programs that provide valuable information as you grow your personal garden. To encourage aspiring gardeners, the organization is offering multiple scholarships to college juniors, seniors and graduate students. Marilynn Smith's Scholarship The LPGA Foundation supports women and young people through programs and initiatives aimed at empowering them through the game of golf. The foundation is pleased to offer the Marilynn Smith Scholarship to a female high school senior who has played golf in high school or in her community and is planning to play golf at an accredited college or university in the United States. Cleft Palate Foundation Scholarships The American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association (ACPA) hopes to create a world where all people can thrive. They provide education, personalized support and resources for every stage of the cleft or craniofacial journey. One resource they are excited to offer is their scholarship program to assist outstanding students born with cleft or craniofacial conditions. Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity Ethics Essay Contest The Elie Wiesel Foundation was established in memory of the Holocaust to combat indifference, intolerance and injustice. They encourage this through international dialogue and youth-focused programs that promote acceptance and equality. To further this dialogue, the Foundation is hosting a Prize in Ethics Essay contest. Full-time undergraduate juniors and seniors are eligible to apply. Applicants must submit an essay articulating an ethical issue that they have encountered. Reflections on a personal meaningful experience are encouraged. Charles C. and Mary Lou Miles Scholarship Eligibility: • Applicants must be graduating seniors of a high school that participates in the Central Oklahoma Guidance Counselor Network. • The scholarship selection committee may give preference to applicants of color who are pursuing studies in English education or industrial education. • Must have a GPA of 3.0 or greater on a 4.0 scale. Financial need may be considered. Funds may be used for tuition, fees and books at any academically accredited four-year nonprofit institution in the United States. Payments are made directly to the school. The Charles C. and Mary Lou Miles Scholarship Fund was established in 2007 by the family to honor the couple’s contribution to the community as educators. Award: $2,000.00 Deadline: 03/01/2020 After completing the General Application/Student Profile, applicants must submit the Supplemental Questions (below) to complete the application for the Benny McReynolds Scholarship: 1. Friends of Kim Jones Shelton Scholarship Eligibility: • A graduating senior of a central Oklahoma high school with a GPA ≥ 3.5. • Must have financial need relating to a disability or challenging circumstance of the applicant or the applicant’s parent. • Preference is given to black female students. Funds may be used for educational related expenses such as tuition, fees, and books at any academically accredited two- year, four-year or vocational technical nonprofit institution in the United States. Payments are made directly to the school. The Friends of Kim Jones-Shelton scholarship was established by friends and family in 1999 to honor Kim’s service to the community. Award: $1,000 Deadline: 02/15/2020 After completing the General Application/Student Profile, applicants must submit the Supplemental Questions (below) to complete the application: 1. The Friends of Kim Jones-Shelton Scholarship fund was established to honor a woman who was very influential in the lives of her friends and family. Please write a reflection paper about friendship. There has been some time changes for the games in Little Axe on Friday, January 17 due to Little Axe having Homecoming and not having enough girls for a JV girls Games. Changes are below. There will not be a JV girls game JV boys will begin at 4:45 Due to Homecoming, the Varsity boys will play at 6:30 Varsity girls will follow.

The Oklahoma City Community Foundation has a scholarship for Juniors. Jones High School is guaranteed to get one of these scholarships. Please have any junior, whose parents did not go to college come see Mr. Moses for the New Opportunity Scholarship. This is one of the easiest scholarship and applications that a student will complete. It is $2000.00

Rose State College is hosting its 4th Annual Black Male Summit 2020: 50 years of Rising with Rose State. This summit came about 4 years ago thanks to the vision of a former RSC student. They welcome high school aged students. This year we will feature various break-out sessions, ice breakers, leadership scholarship information and our Keynote speaker.
