Please see the flyer for more details on the Honors Program---including our McCabe Scholarship, a full-ride available to students to apply starting at a 3.5 unweighted, cumulative GPA combined with a 22 ACT or 1100 SAT.
We can also promise scholarships to high school seniors who have above a 2.5 unweighted gpa, upon completion of this application and our free application to the university (Langston.edu/apply-now).
As a sidenote, most (not all) students receiving Oklahoma Promise, who receive the Regents' scholarship typically have their college completely covered (3.3 unweighted gpa, 20 ACT recommended).
We also have significant scholarship funding for Ag majors (Animal Science, Agribusiness, Crop and Soil, Natural Resource Management) available starting at a 3.0 unweighted GPA.

Picture retakes for JHS are TOMORROW!! These retakes will be for underclassmen as well as seniors. If you were unhappy with the pictures you ordered, bring them back & exchange them for a new packet with your retakes. The photographers will stay until EOC returns in the afternoon. All teachers & staff need to have pictures taken since this is a new company. Also on Tuesday, October 18th, all seniors will take the senior photo on the football field at 11:30. Please wear white!! After this, 13-year seniors will take their picture in the gym. EOC students will be excused for these photos but are expected to get to EOC quickly after photos. Please wear white for all these pictures!!! Freshmen & sophomore class officers will take their pictures at 1 pm that day. SENIOR FAVORITES will take their pictures with Mattie Elerick at a later date.

October 15th: Wichita State’s scholarship competition Admission deadline
We need all admission materials in by this deadline in order for students to be eligible to submit their scholarship competition applications. Students can apply at: Wichita.edu/apply. We are test optional.
November 1st: Scholarship competitions applications deadline
Students can see all of our scholarship competitions at: Wichita.edu/scholarshipcompetitions. Eligible students can find the scholarship competition applications (and all other scholarship opportunities), once admitted to Wichita State, in our scholarship system, Scholarship Universe: Wichita.edu/scholarshipuniverse
December 1st:
Freshman Merit Scholarship Deadline (Awards require at least a 3.0 unweighted GPA AND 1060 SAT or 21 ACT)
Students must be admitted to Wichita State by December 1st to be considered for a Freshman Merit Scholarship ($1,000 - $4,000 per year for each of their four years. This is the in-state amount since ALL OK residents automatically qualify for tuition discounts). Students can view the chart to see what they could qualify for: Wichita.edu/freshmanmerit.

JHS SENIORS
The Academic Scholars Program, established by the state Legislature and governor in 1988 and operated by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, provides scholarships to academically outstanding students who attend an Oklahoma college or university. The 2023-2024 Academic Scholars application for automatic qualifiers (students qualifying from options 1 and 2 on the list below) is attached. The application will also soon be available online at www.okhighered.org/academic-scholars.
2023 Oklahoma high school graduates may qualify for the program in one of three ways:
1. ACT/SAT Scores
Students may qualify by scoring at or above the 99.5 percentile on the ACT or SAT.
ACT: For fall 2023, the required ACT score is a total sum score of the ACT subject areas of 137.
SAT: For fall 2023, the required SAT score is a total sum score of the critical reading and math subject areas of 1520.
2. Nationally Recognized Awards
Students may also qualify by achieving one of the following designations: National Merit Scholar, National Merit Finalist, or United States Presidential Scholar.
3. Institutional Nominee Slots
Public colleges and universities may also nominate students attending their institution for the program based on criteria established by each institution.
Students are required to be Oklahoma Residents according to OSRHE Residency Policy (OSRHE Policy and Procedures Manual, Chapter 3 - Academic Affairs. View Section 3.18 of PDF file.).
