Student Board Program BancFirst-Jones Fall/2022-Spring/2023 The purpose of the BancFirst Student Board Program is to allow students a first-hand view of the operations of a bank, how a bank serves as an important community partner and allows students personal growth opportunities. Students will gain knowledge early in life regarding the importance of protecting their credit, banking issues, and other financial information. Additionally, students will give input into their banking needs and other topics that will help them plan for the future. INFORMATION Meetings will be held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, at the library, 12:30PM to 1:30PM. Lunch will be provided. To be eligible, the student must be a senior in high school with above average grades. Members will be chosen by high school faculty/staff committee based upon the applications submitted. Applications must be turned into the counselor’s office by September 27, 2022. · Meet 8 times during the school year: October-May; 3rd Wednesday of each month · Meetings last approximately one hour. For those of you who are new to your counseling position, I would like to tell you about myself. Before my retirement, I taught in the Edmond school system for 39 years. I have conducted my ACT prep class for 26 years and my PSAT class for 21 years. Historically, students who have emailed me their scores have had an average gain of 4 points on the ACT, and I have had a yearly average of 19 National Merit Finalists on the PSAT. If you are planning to go to college after graduation you need to be filling out and submitting application for admissions to colleges you are interested in.
