At OU, students can unlock their potential through outstanding honors academic opportunities that enhance their professional journey as they pursue their degrees. Honors College Experience The Honors College at the University of Oklahoma offers an exciting and supportive academic experience tailored for ambitious students. With a vibrant interdisciplinary curriculum and a variety of engaging programs, students can explore a wide range of subjects in small, interactive classes that foster collaboration and creativity. The Honors College also offers unique opportunities for students to study abroad, through programs like Honors at Oxford, and engage in undergraduate research. This year, students can apply to the Honors College without test scores. Review the Honors College Acceptance Criteria for full details. The priority application deadline for OU Honors College is February 1, 2025. Medical Humanities Scholars Program* The Medical Humanities Scholars Program is a highly selective program at the University of Oklahoma that offers an exciting opportunity for incoming students to blend your love for the liberal arts with a pre-medical education! This innovative program prepares students for medical school through hands-on experiences and engaging courses in literature, history, and bioethics, giving students a deeper understanding of the human side of medicine. Plus, students gain early provisional acceptance to the OU College of Medicine and enjoy smaller class sizes in a vibrant academic community. Applications for the Medical Humanities Scholars Programs are due January 15, 2025. Pre-Law Scholars Program* The Pre-Law Scholars Program, designed for motivated high school seniors to complete both a bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor in six years instead of the standard 7-year path. Participants will spend their first three years fulfilling undergraduate requirements, then integrate their first year of law school coursework as elective credits. Benefits include early provisional acceptance to the OU College of Law, a supportive peer cohort, eligibility to apply to the one-time LSAT Preparation Scholarship, and access to innovative courses and opportunities in the Honors College. Curious to learn more? Current OU student, Megan Benner, shares how the Pre-Law Scholars Program has impacted her academic career. Applications for Pre-Law Scholars Program are due February 1, 2025. *The Medical Humanities Scholars and Pre-Law Scholars Programs do not consider test-optional applications as ACT/SAT test scores are required for program eligibility.

OU to Offer First Four-Year Degree Combined with Enhanced FAA Initiative The University of Oklahoma and the Federal Aviation Administration are launching an Enhanced Air Traffic—Collegiate Training Initiative (AT-CTI) program that allows qualified OU graduates to proceed directly to an air traffic control facility for on-the-job training, bypassing the FAA Academy. The AT-CTI program within OU’s School of Aviation is currently the only four-year Bachelor of Science degree program in the nation. Before this program, students completing the aviation management – air traffic management concentration had certain advantages during the hiring process but still had to attend the FAA Academy. Through the Enhanced AT-CTI program, students will still complete the same background and security checks, medical clearances and skills assessments as their peers in the FAA Academy, but they will do so while completing their degree. Once they have completed their assessments and have qualified on all other hiring aspects, they can be directly placed upon graduation into an air traffic control facility for on-the-job training rather than attending the academy. The curriculum is built into the air traffic management Bachelor of Science degree. Additionally, students can take the four-year air traffic control minor in conjunction with an aviation major to complete the Enhanced AT-CTI requirements. For more information on this program go to: https://www.ou.edu/ags/aviation
