The December 8 ACT that was cancelled due to inclement weather has been rescheduled for this Saturday, December 15. Only students originally registered or on standby for December 8 test at Jones High School will be admitted to test on December 15. ACT should be sending email or expedited letter to anyone who was registered for December 8 test.

JHS SENIORS: Now that you have completed the Community Foundation and Jones High School Scholarship applications. You need to apply for the Pete & Lela Stavros Scholarship Eligibility: Graduating Oklahoma high school seniors who are children and relatives of Oklahoma firefighters who are members of the Oklahoma State Firefighters Association (active or retired). All application materials will be reviewed by the Pete and Lela Stavros Educational Foundation and the Oklahoma State Firefighters Association to verify the applicant’s relationship to an Oklahoma State Firefighters Association member. Funds may be used for educational-related expenses such as tuition, fees and books at any academically accredited two-year, four-year or vocational technical nonprofit institution in the United States. Payments are made directly to the school. The Pete and Lela Stavros Educational Foundation was established following the retirement of Pete Stavros as director of legislation for the Oklahoma State Firefighters Association. Scholarships given by the Pete and Lela Stavros Educational Foundation honor his career and service as a firefighter and promote the couple’s interests in providing educational opportunities for the children of Oklahoma’s firefighters. A permanent endowment fund was established at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation in June 2002 and continues to receive contributions from association members across Oklahoma. You need to apply for the Fulmer Trombone and Musicians Scholarship Eligibility: Applicants must be graduating seniors of a high school that participates in the Central Oklahoma Guidance Counselor Network. Applicants must have an unweighted GPA greater than or equal to 3.0. Applicants must be eligible to participate or be enrolled in a college/university band or orchestra during their freshman year (full-time study at a 4 year institution). Preference may be given to trombone players. Financial need may be considered. Funds may be used by full-time students for tuition, fees and books at any accredited, not-for-profit 4-year college or university. Payments are made directly to the school. This scholarship was established in 2014 to honor the aspirations and values of Mr. Fred Fulmer and to support scholarships that encourage the pursuit of post-secondary education.
