Students in 9-12 interested in attending Mercy Hospital’s Career Fair, sign up in the counselor’s office. This career fair will be Oct 2. Mr. Moses will take students in a bus.

9th-12th grade students interested in ACT Prep: Chad Cargill will be at Jones High School on October 9 from 9 to noon. If you would like to attend his workshop sign up and pay in counselor office. Cost is $30.00

Juniors and Sophomores: Jones High School will administer the PSAT/NMSQT on October 16. This is the exam that will qualify you for the National Merit Scholarship Contest. We have a limited number of exams. Cost is $17.00, sign up and pay in counseling office as soon as possible.

Seniors wanting to attend college Fair at EOC needs to sign up in counselor’soffice. EOC College Fair will be October 1 from 9 am to 11 am

Students in 9th-10th grade: This is your opportunity to sign up for Oklahoma's Promise. Sophomores: this is your last year you can apply. If parents make less than 55,000, you take the right courses, make good grades, and stay out of trouble the state of Oklahoma will pay up to four years of your tuition at in state schools. You must fill out application at http://www.okhighered.org/okpromise/

SIXT SCHOLARS PROGRAM
SIXT rent a car is pleased to offer five high school seniors the opportunity to receive a $5,000 scholarship and become a SIXT scholar. The program is designed to assist high school students who plan to continue their education in college. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice. SIXT rent a car is thrilled to contribute to higher education and support the development of exceptional students.

Elks National Foundation’s Most Valuable Student Competition
The Elks National Foundation is providing scholarships to high school seniors who show excellence in all that they do. The foundation has been around for many years, and in honor of their history, they would like to help students succeed in college. To apply, students must be high school seniors and must plan to attend a four year college or university. Students can apply by submitting the online application along with all supporting documents. Applicants will be judged on academic achievement, leadership, community involvement and financial need.
Award Amount: 500 awards; $4,000 - $50,000

We also have 75 students signed up to take 115 AP exams in the spring and we have 47 juniors and seniors taking at least one concurrent college class.

The OU Office of Admissions and Recruitment will be hosting its third annual First Sooner I on Friday, October 25 in Norman, Oklahoma. This event targets students who will be first in their family to attend college and students who qualify for Oklahoma's Promise. This would be a great opportunity for a college visit. Students to sign up by October 22 at hello.ou.edu/register/firstsooner. Space is limited.

The Wichita State University College of Applied Studies announces the Doris and Ralph Klose Scholars Day for high school seniors who declare a major in math or science teacher education at Wichita State University. Winners of the scholarship will be offered a financial aid package that may include various scholarships. The Klose Scholarship, up to $20,000, covers the average cost of tuition books and fees during their junior and senior year.
Requirements:
• Be a current high school senior
• Have a minimum high school GPA of 3.50 or
• Have a minimum ACT composite score of 24 or a 1160 on the SAT or
• Be in the top 10% of your class
• Declare a major in a math or science teacher education program
