The Foundation for Safer Athletic Fields for Everyone (SAFE) has a mission to enrich communities through championing safe, sustainable sports and recreation fields for all athletes. They established the SAFE Scholarship program to assist students within the sports turf industry who have outstanding performances, both in sports turf management and research. To apply, students must be STMA (Sports Turf Managers Association) members and must submit an essay describing their career aspirations, education goals, and influencing factors.

Rent to Own Labs Scholarship
Rent to Own Labs is excited to offer their scholarship to passionate real estate students. Since students will be searching for their own living arrangements, the company hopes to inform students about the idea of rent to own homes. The scholarship will help with textbooks, tuition, and development courses related to real estate. To apply, students must provide verification of their enrollment in real estate courses and must complete the application.

Modern Castle Scholarship
Modern Castle believes that information, knowledge, and the ability to communicate are incredibly important. They understand the impact that higher education can have on people, and they hope to help students pursue dreams of higher education. That is why they are offering a $1,000 scholarship to encourage students to be life-long learners. To apply for the scholarship, students must submit a short video that answers questions regarding modern home trends and technology. Videos must meet the following criteria:
Videos should not be longer than 5 minutes
Videos should be made with quality video production – don’t film on portrait.

KidGuard is passionate about the healthy development of children and families. The KidGuard for Education Scholarship is part of an effort to bring awareness and inspire solutions on issues such as cyberbullying, childhood depression, and other issues in the age of technology. Students can apply by submitting an essay or video from one of five prompts.

Branson Shows Inspired Scholarship

As one of the nation's largest need-based college scholarship programs in the country, the Horatio Alger Scholarship Programs specifically assist high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. While many programs are directed primarily to recognizing academic achievement or leadership potential, the Horatio Alger Association seeks students who have exhibited determination, integrity, and perseverance in overcoming adversity, as well as have critical financial need.
REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible to apply for the Horatio Alger National Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Be enrolled full time as a high school senior in the United States; be progressing normally toward graduation in spring/summer of 2020 with plans to enter a college in the United States no later than the fall following graduation
Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution)
Demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required)
Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0

The 2020 Coca-Cola Scholars Program application is now open.
The application deadline is 5 pm est on Thursday, October 31, 2019.
All applicants will be notified of their status by Thursday, November 21, 2019.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be:
- Current high school (or home-schooled) students attending a school in the U.S. (or select DoD schools) who will graduate during the 2019-2020 academic school year
- U.S. Citizens (not a Temporary Resident), U.S. Nationals, U.S. Permanent Residents, Refugees, Asylees, Cuban-Haitian Entrants, or Humanitarian Parolees - based on the guidelines utilized by U.S. Department of Education for Federal Financial Aid eligibility
- On track to graduate this academic year (2019-2020)
- Planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution
Applicants may not be:
- Children or grandchildren of employees, officers, or owners of Coca-Cola bottling companies, The Coca-Cola Company, Company divisions or subsidiaries.
- International students (with the exception of students at DoD schools)

Students in 9-12 interested in attending Mercy Hospital’s Career Fair, sign up in the counselor’s office. This career fair will be Oct 3. Mr. Moses will take students in a bus. This would be a good opportunity to see if you would like to pursue a career in medical field. You will get hands on with several areas of medical world and have the opportunity to visit with Doctors and Nurses.
9th-12th grade students interested in ACT Prep: Chad Cargill will be at Jones High School on October 9 from 9 to noon. If you would like to attend his workshop sign up and pay in counselor office. Cost is $30.00
Juniors and Sophomores: Jones High School will administer the PSAT/NMSQT on October 16. This is the exam that will qualify you for the National Merit Scholarship Contest. We have a limited number of exams. Cost is $17.00 sign up and pay in counseling office as soon as possible
Seniors wanting to attend college Fair at EOC needs to sign up in counselor’s office. Mr. Moses will take you over in a bus. EOC College Fair will be October 1 from 9 am to 11 am

The Josten’s representative will be here on Thursday, Sept. 26 to meet with the sophomores from 10:30-11:00 a.m. in the commons and 11:15-11:45 a.m. with the seniors. The senior officers will meet with him from 11:45-12:00 to design the graduation announcement.
They will return on Thursday, Oct. 3 from 10:30-12:30 for ordering.

JHS students in 8,9 or 10th grade: if your parents make $ 55,000 a year or less you need to apply for the Oklahoma’s Promise Scholarship. You will have to agree to make a 2.5 or above GPA in the 17 required courses in high school, stay away from drugs and alcohol and maintain good school attendance.
