Eligibility:
Must be of Hispanic heritage
U.S. citizen, permanent legal resident, or DACA
Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for high school students; minimum of 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for college and graduate students
Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited, public or not-for-profit, four-year university, or graduate school, in the U.S., for the 2021-2022 academic year
Submit the FAFSA or state-based financial aid forms (if applicable)

June – HSF Scholars are announced (includes both funded and waitlisted Scholars)
June to December – Final Document Verification (financial aid award letter, enrollment verification, and related documents)
October to December – Awards are disbursed after verification process is complete

The deadline for the Freshman Scholarship has been extended to February 22nd. These tuition waivers are awarded to prospective freshman students based on either GPA OR standardized test scores. This means that you are eligible to apply for most of the scholarships that they have available. Jones High School is guaranteed to receive at least one New Opportunity Scholars Scholarship. This is a beneficial program spending a week setting up and running a state government. There is potential to get college credit and you would be eligible to apply Scholarship open only to individuals that participate in Girls State. Male Juniors and Seniors interested in participating in Oklahoma Boys State: See Mr. Moses for information and how to register for this Program. This is a beneficial program spending a week setting up and running a state government. There is potential to get college credit and you would be eligible to apply for the $20000.00 Samsung Scholarship. Registration is open now and filling fast. SEMA is now accepting applications for the 2021 SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund for students preparing for careers in the automotive aftermarket industry.
Since its inception in 1984, the SEMA Scholarship fund has provided financial support to promising students, helping them to successfully open doors to those working towards a career in our field. The program offers financial assistance of up to $5,000 with scholarships available in a variety of categories, including but not limited to accounting, sales, marketing, engineering, and more.

Rose State College Black Male Summit and Black, Brown and College Bound Conference (RSVP Link Included)
I wanted to share a few opportunities that the Rose State College Center for Success, Inclusion and Diversity has coming up in 2021. These two conferences are free and are intended to support young people through the college process, while providing opportunity for open discussions on Finding Your Passion, Leading Through Service, Perseverance and more. We will also offer a session on financial aid and scholarships, college support services, admissions and enrollment. These events will be offered on campus and via Zoom (Zoom links will be emailed to all who RSVP). If you would like to bring a group of students please feel free to have them register so we can have a name bad printed for each student. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Seniors: Remember that the majority of your scholarship dollars are going to come from the college that you attend. Please make sure that you have your college applications completed and submitted before Feb 1. You also want to make sure you have completed the scholarship applications for that university.

JHS Seniors: The Oklahoma Rural Rehabilitation Corporation Scholarship application is now open. This scholarship is intended for lower income, lower net worth farm families. It may be used at any public or private college or university or vocational training school in Oklahoma. Scholarship application must be received in their office by April 8.
