JHS Students interested in University of Tulsa and Music Scholarships: See this information that was sent from the University of Tulsa
The University of Tulsa School of Music is comprised of highly accomplished students and faculty, and it would be a pleasure to welcome YOUR students to this vibrant community.
As a TU music student, students can choose from several programs and degree choices in performance, composition and music education. TU is also enriched by the many students majoring in other disciplines who choose to complete a music minor or just perform in our terrific ensembles. For both majors and non-majors, we offer an array of scholarships- all students need to do is audition to be considered!
The School of Music’s home is the state-of-the-art Lorton Performance Center (LPC). Inside this airy, light-filled building students will find thoughtfully designed rehearsal halls and classrooms, as well as small-group and individual practice studios created with the needs of university musicians in mind.
At the center of the LPC is the Gussman Concert Hall, with seating for 635 guests on two floors – and wonderful acoustics. For more intimate concerts, such as recitals and chamber music, the 88-seat Meinig Recital Hall is a real gem. Graduates of our program often tell me that opportunities to perform for appreciative audiences in these remarkable spaces were highlights of their time at TU.
I hope you will pass this information on to any of your students interested in music as a major or a non-major. If your students have any questions or wish to discuss the audition process for scholarships, please ask them to contact me at richard-wagner@utulsa.edu or 918-631-2234
