JHS Seniors: The Oklahoma City Community Foundation Scholarship portal opened up on October first. A student from Jones are guaranteed to be awarded at least one of each of the following scholarships. The Community Foundation Scholar, Jones High School Scholarship, and New Opportunities Scholarship(had to apply in your Junior Year). They have additional scholarships that you are also eligible for because Jones High School Is part of the Central Oklahoma Guidance Counselor Network. They have a video on this website that goes over the full application process. I would encourage you to watch the video. The application process is a bit tricky. Also bookmark the scholarship site because you will go back frequently to apply for additional scholarships. It is a three step process: 1) create your account 2) complete general application, 3) finally complete supplemental application for each scholarship you are applying for(if required). I am overjoyed to announce that after almost 2 years of not being able to perform or audition for any activities due to our COVID restrictions, the following JHS students were chosen for the 2021-2022 ECOCDA Area Honor Choirs: Heath Chapman, Kayleigh Patterson, Montanna Purvis, Jazlyn Ross and Norah Stephenson. These students have been working very hard to catch up to where they needed to be for these auditions. Now they get to participate in a two day rehearsal event, capped off with a fabulous evening concert on Tuesday, Nov. 2 @ 7:00 p.m. in Guthrie at the Scottish Rite Temple. Please try and plan to attend this occasion and let's celebrate the successes of these hard-working musicians.--
