JHS Art students had a lot of fun last week during our Street Art unit. Students learned how to use spray paint, poster making, and other awesome mediums to participate in 100% legal street art! They learned about getting permission to do art in public spaces and how professional street artists can work on commission. Every student got to design and cut their own personal logo stencil and then spray paint it to end the project with a personal poster entirely of their own creation! They turned out so well!

JHS SENIORS SEE INFORMATION REGARDING LOOMING SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE: The Oklahoma City Community Foundation has two scholarships with deadlines of Monday, December 6. The Community Foundation Scholars is a $3000 scholarship and The Jones High School Scholarship is a 2000. One CFS is awarded to a qualified JHS applicant and two(2) JHS scholarships are awarded to qualified JHS applicants. Right now according to the community foundation we have a very small number of applicants. To apply they would go to www.occf.org/scholarships Click on apply then sign up and complete general application and then complete supplemental application for both of these scholarships. Student will need to write essays for these awards, provide resume, letter of recommendation, and transcript. If you have questions or need assistance reach out to Mr. Moses. Email is cmoses@jonesps.org I would really hate to leave 7000 in scholarship money just sitting on the table. Once you have completed general application and supplemental application for these two awards, you can complete supplemental application for any of their other scholarships including the OGE scholarship which is a 15000.00 award. The Oklahoma City Community Foundation has over a 150 scholarships and JHS seniors are eligible to apply for most because we are a member of the Central Oklahoma Guidance Counselor Network(COGN).
