JHS Seniors: The Oklahoma State Daughters of the American Revolution(OSDAR) would like to extend opportunity for you to apply for their scholarships and the National Daughters of the American Revolution scholarships. Over 26 total scholarships available and only two require applicant to be son/daughter of DAR member. The OSDAR scholarships are available to qualified applicants regardless of race, religion, creed, or area of study. The applicant does not have to be a member of DAR to apply. Applications submitted for an Oklahoma State DAR scholarship must be submitted through an Oklahoma DAR Chapter. If you want to apply for any of their scholarships you can contact Joni Mabry at mabryj@prodigy.net so your application can be submitted through the Samuel King OSDAR Chapter. The due date for the OSDAR Scholarship is January 31, 2024. JHS Juniors: THe Oklahoma City Community Foundation has a scholarship that you can apply for as a Junior. It is a 3000.00 for first generation college students. Requirements: GPA Top 50% of class HIgh School member of the Central Oklahoma Guidance Counselor Network(JHS IS A member) YOu will be first generation college student. A little clarification on definition of first generation. First of all your siblings do not count as they are same generation as you. Only looking at Parents and grandparents. Today, Jones Art Club Members Isabel Fussel (10th) and Julianne Richards (12th) attended the Oklahoma County Commissioner Board Meeting with other District 1 and 3 high school students to be recognized for the artwork they submitted to the County Commissioners Fall Art Competition. The theme was Oklahoma Skies. Isabel placed first and Julianne placed second. The winners were selected by members of the Allied Arts and their artwork will be displayed in the halls of the Oklahoma County Courthouse until the next competition in the spring. Jones High School Art Club members are pictured here with their artwork, and certificates signed by the County Commissioner. They also got to meet and talk with other high school artists across County Districts 1 and 3. Isabel and Julianne, we are very proud of you and thank you for representing Jones High School so well.

This opportunity for you and your parents to explore campus, talk with faculty and earn scholarship money. JHS JUNIORS: Youth Leadership Oklahoma (YLOK) is currently accepting applications for Class 24. YLOK is seeking applicants who are current high school juniors and passionate about advocating for their community and state. During the program, 52 selected students from across the state will travel throughout Oklahoma from June 2-7th and learn about critical issues that impact Oklahoman's (ethics, entrepreneurship, health care, economics, philanthropy, tribal, government, etc). Participants will have the opportunity to connect with peers and develop their leadership and teambuilding skills. This program is provided at no cost to the participants.
