Pete & Lela Stavros Scholarship
Eligibility:
Graduating Oklahoma high school seniors who are children and relatives of Oklahoma firefighters who are members of the Oklahoma State Firefighters Association (active or retired). All application materials will be reviewed by the Pete and Lela Stavros Educational Foundation and the Oklahoma State Firefighters Association to verify the applicant’s relationship to an Oklahoma State Firefighters Association member.
Funds may be used for educational-related expenses such as tuition, fees and books at any academically accredited two-year, four-year or vocational technical nonprofit institution in the United States. Payments are made directly to the school.
The Pete and Lela Stavros Educational Foundation was established following the retirement of Pete Stavros as director of legislation for the Oklahoma State Firefighters Association. Scholarships given by the Pete and Lela Stavros Educational Foundation honor his career and service as a firefighter and promote the couple’s interests in providing educational opportunities for the children of Oklahoma’s firefighters. A permanent endowment fund was established at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation in June 2002 and continues to receive contributions from association members across Oklahoma.

Fulmer Trombone and Musicians Scholarship
Eligibility:
Applicants must be graduating seniors of a high school that participates in the Central Oklahoma Guidance Counselor Network.
Applicants must have an unweighted GPA greater than or equal to 3.0.
Applicants must be eligible to participate or be enrolled in a college/university band or orchestra during their freshman year (full-time study at a 4 year institution).
Preference may be given to trombone players.
Financial need may be considered.
Funds may be used by full-time students for tuition, fees and books at any accredited, not-for-profit 4-year college or university. Payments are made directly to the school.
This scholarship was established in 2014 to honor the aspirations and values of Mr. Fred Fulmer and to support scholarships that encourage the pursuit of post-secondary education.

Eligibility:
A graduating senior of a central Oklahoma high school with a GPA ≥ 3.5.
Must have financial need relating to a disability or challenging circumstance of the applicant or the applicant’s parent.
Preference is given to black female students.
Funds may be used for educational related expenses such as tuition, fees, and books at any academically accredited two-year, four-year or vocational technical nonprofit institution in the United States. Payments are made directly to the school.
The Friends of Kim Jones-Shelton scholarship was established by friends and family in 1999 to honor Kim’s service to the community.

Elsie Mae 'Nat' Glosemeyer Scholarship
Eligibility:
A graduate of one of the designated public high schools/alternative schools, or have attained a GED, in eastern Oklahoma County (east of I-35).
Financial need is considered.
The scholarship may be used at public schools (college or vocational) in Oklahoma. Funds may be used for tuition, fees and book expenses. Payments are made directly to the school.
The Elsie Mae ‘Nat’ Glosemeyer Memorial Scholarship was established in 1998 by friends and family of Ms. Glosemeyer to honor her work with students participating in the Oklahoma Job Training Partnership Act. The scholarship honors her work with students who were ‘at-risk’ of not fulfilling their educational potential.

Dr. Eugene S. Briggs Memorial Scholarship
Eligibility:
Students who are residents of Oklahoma and are graduating, or have graduated, from an Oklahoma high school.
Must have a financial need.
Academic achievement, community service and need will all be reviewed in the application process.
Recipients of this scholarship must be enrolled full time in a course of study leading to a degree or certification at an academically accredited nonprofit institution in the United States.
Funds may be used for tuition, fees and book expenses; payments are made directly to the school. Awards must be used within the immediate academic year after the award is granted.
The Lions of Oklahoma established this memorial trust fund to perpetually memorialize and show appreciation to a fellow Oklahoma Lion, Dr. Eugene S. Briggs. He was the former president of Phillips University and a past international president of Lions Clubs.

Commander Family Scholarship
Eligibility:
• The Commander Family Scholarship can only be used by students who are enrolled in full-time study at an academically accredited institution in the state of Oklahoma.
• Graduating seniors from high schools that participate in the Central Oklahoma Guidance Counselor Network.
• Have an unweighted high school GPA between 3.0 and 3.79.
• Demonstrate leadership and participation in school activities, and demonstrate a desire to work.
The Commander Family Scholarship was established in 2001 in memory of A.C. (Gus) Commander by his wife Ruth and son Ed. The Commander Family Scholarship is funded through the Commander Family Fund endowment.

H. W. Almen/West OKC Rotary Scholarship
The West OKC Rotary established the H. W. Almen Scholarship Fund at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation with the purpose of providing scholarships for students graduating from high schools in Oklahoma.
Eligibility:
• Must be graduating senior from an Oklahoma high school (students who complete graduation requirements through home schooling are eligible).
• A cumulative high school GPA ≥ 2.75.
• Financial need is considered. Applicant’s family income cannot exceed $125,000 (Adjusted Gross Income on Form 1040 or FAFSA).
Funds may be used for tuition, fees and book expenses. Payments are made directly to the school.

The December 8 administration of the ACT, scheduled to be given at Jones High School, has been canceled due to inclement weather. The rescheduled test date will be posted at www.actstudent.org as soon as it is set. Registered examinees will receive official notification from ACT. With the threat of a winter storm tomorrow we are going to postpone the HS basketball games that were scheduled to be played at OCS tomorrow night. The games will be moved to
Thursday Dec. 13th @ OCS. The JV boys will be the first game played at 5:00, with varsity girls and boys to follow.

The University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy is excited to announce registration is now open for a FREE event for students interested in a health career, a career as a pharmacist, or becoming a researcher, and we cordially invite them to the 2nd Annual OUCOP Future PharmeRx Preview Day on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 9:00 am-2:30 pm.
This fun event exposes middle and high school students to the possibilities of a pharmacy career through a variety of interactive experiences with our faculty, residents, graduate students, and pharmacy students.
This event will be held at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center College of Pharmacy, 1110 N Stonewall Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73117.
This event is open to the first 75 middle school and high school students who register by the deadline of Friday, February 8, 2019. A tentative schedule is below but this schedule is subject to change based on availability.
