JHS 9-12 grade students: Black History Month is coming up in February. JHS is sponsoring a video contest. In your video you will discuss the following topic: How does racial and cultural diversity make us a stronger school, state and nation? JHS Seniors: Colbert Cooper Hill Attorneys is excited to announce their annual $1,000 scholarship, which is available to college students in Oklahoma who have been accepted to or are currently enrolled in a 2-year college or 4- year university with a GPA of at least 3.0 Eligibility and application details are below: - Applicants must be enrolled in or accepted to an accredited 2-year college or 4-year university in Oklahoma during 2020. All majors are encouraged to apply. - Applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.0. - One student will be selected to receive $1,000 in scholarship funds based on their winning essay response. - Scholarship funds must be used to pay for tuition and other education-related expenses. - To enter, applicants are encouraged to submit via form on our website. - The deadline for submissions is December 31, 2019. Our JHS STUCO Food Drive was a huge success! OUr student body collected over 2200 food items! Great job Longhorns! All food items collected will be donated to our local Jones Food Pantry! Longhorns helping Longhorns!

Congratulations to our Jones High School Academic Team. We compete in one of the most difficult Districts in Class 4A. Our District results were: Bishop McGuiness- 1st, Harrah-2nd, Heritage Hall-3rd, and Jones-4th. These District Results determined our seeding for the Regional Tournament with two other Districts top 4 finishers. The Results from the Regional Tournament this past weekend was: Bishop McGuiness-1st, Harrah, 2nd, Heritage Hall-3rd, and Jones-4th. By Placing 4th at Regional Tournament, we advance to the Area Tournament at Bridge Creek on Saturday, January 18. The top two from this Area Tournament will advance to the State Tournament. The last time we were in the Area Tournament was in 2013 when we advanced and competed in State Tournament! JHS Seniors: the Elsie Mae “Nat” Glosemeyer Memorial Scholarship is open. Applications must be submitted by February 15, 2020. This is an excellent opportunity for students from eastern Oklahoma County. Detailed information about the scholarship is below along with the link to this specific application page. Students may also receive detailed instructions about our online application process by going to the scholarship page on our website at www.occf.org/scholarships. Please know that applicants must complete a General Application before applying to specific scholarship opportunities. Think of the General Application as setting up a Student Profile. Submitting a General Application does not mean that an applicant has applied for any scholarships. Elsie Mae 'Nat' Glosemeyer Memorial Scholarship Eligibility: • A graduate of one of the designated public high schools/alternative schools, or have attained a GED, in eastern Oklahoma County (east of I-35). • Financial need is considered. The scholarship may be used at public schools (college or vocational) in Oklahoma. Funds may be used for tuition, fees and book expenses. Payments are made directly to the school. The Elsie Mae ‘Nat’ Glosemeyer Memorial Scholarship was established in 1998 by friends and family of Ms. Glosemeyer to honor her work with students participating in the Oklahoma Job Training Partnership Act. The scholarship honors her work with students who were ‘at-risk’ of not fulfilling their educational potential. Award: $2,000.00 Deadline: 2/15/2020 After completing the General Application/Student Profile, applicants must submit the Supplemental Questions (below) to complete the application: 1. JHS SENIORS THE ACS SCHOLARS PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION IS OPEN> DEADLINE MARCH 1, 2020 The ACS Scholars Program awards renewable scholarships to underrepresented minority students majoring in undergraduate chemistry-related disciplines, and are also intending to pursue careers in chemistry-related fields. Selected recipients are awarded up to $5,000* per academic year. To date, over 3,000 students have received a funding from the ACS Scholars Program.
