JHS Native American Seniors
Greetings! American Indian Graduate Center is pleased to invite you and your high school students to our virtual Agriculture College Readiness Program to be held on November 16 to 19, 2020. American Indian Graduate Center is partnering and collaborating with Oklahoma State University Ferguson College of Agriculture to highlight the value of higher education and to showcase resources and funding available to students before they enter college. This event is supported by a generous grant from the Native American Agriculture Fund. This virtual program is for American Indian and Alaska Native high school students to learn about college preparation, scholarship opportunities, financial literacy, gain knowledge about degree programs offered in the Ferguson College of Agriculture and interact with top industry professionals. Beginning with the Agriculture College Readiness Module Series, American Indian Graduate Center will be streaming videos for students to view from November 16th to 19th via the Moodle online platform. Students can gain access to these videos by registering at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/AgriReadiRegistration2020
Once the student registers, American Indian Graduate Center will give them access to view the following modules: Understanding Financial Aid Writing Scholarship Essays Completing the Application Process Balancing School, Work, and Life College Life: A New Adventure Then, on November 19, 2020, tune in to the Agriculture College Readiness Webinar from 9 AM to 1 PM MST. Dr. Justin Moss, American Indian Graduate Center Alumnus, Professor, and Department Head of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture at Oklahoma State University, will be giving the keynote address. Oklahoma State University Prospective Student Coordinator and Alumnus, Amber McGee, will be speaking on Finding the Right College and Selecting the Right Major. Then, we will conclude the webinar with a college student panel.

JHS SENIORS INTERESTED IN WICHITA STATE
Wichita State has received a generous donation from Gene and Yolanda Camarena to offer 20 renewable scholarship to students who are of Black and/or Hispanic/Latino heritage!
Scholarship Breakdown:
$8,000-$20,000 for new freshman
$4,000-$10,000 for new transfer students
*Scholarships are stackable for students who receive a Freshman/Transfer Merit Scholarship
To be eligible to compete, students must:
Be a 2021 high school graduate or new incoming transfer student with at least 12 transfer credit hours
Submit Wichita State application for admission and scholarship materials by December 1
Meet the following criteria:
Have a minimum unweighted 3.00 GPA
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by December 1
For students ineligible to complete a FAFSA, please submit a need statement that speaks to the financial need for scholarship assistance
This means yes, undocumented students can apply for the Adelante scholarship
Have a resume built and ready to upload at the application site
Deadline:
Shocker Adelante Scholars applications are due December 1, 2020.

Jackie Robinson Foundation (JRF)
The online application for the Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship is available starting on November 1, 2020, at jackierobinson.org. Through the JRF application, more than 4,000 talented young minority high school students apply to become JRF Scholars and carry on the civic-minded legacy of the foundation's namesake, Jackie Robinson. The deadline to submit the application for a JRF Scholarship is February 1, 2021, 5 p.m. ET.

JHS Seniors the Oklahoma City Community Foundation is promoting the Commander Family Scholarship. Applications must be submitted by March 1, 2021. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduating senior from the Central Oklahoma Guidance Counselor Network. Detailed information about the scholarship is below along with the link to this specific application page. Students may also receive detailed instructions about our online application process by going to the scholarship page on our website at
www.occf.org/scholarships.
Please know that applicants must complete a General Application before applying to specific scholarship opportunities. Think of the General Application as setting up a Student Profile. Submitting a General Application does not mean that an applicant has applied for any scholarships.
Commander Family Scholarship
Eligibility:
• The Commander Family Scholarship can only be used by students who are enrolled in full-time study at an academically accredited institution in the state of Oklahoma.
• Graduating seniors from high schools that participate in the Central Oklahoma Guidance Counselor Network
• GPA 3.0-3.79 unweighted
• Demonstrate leadership and participation in school activities, and demonstrate a desire to work.
The Commander Family Scholarship was established in 2001 in memory of A.C. (Gus) Commander by his wife Ruth and son Ed. The Commander Family Scholarship is funded through the Commander Family Fund endowment.
Award: $2,500.00 Deadline: 3/1/2021
After completing the General Application/Student Profile, applicants must submit the Supplemental Questions (below) to complete the application:
1. Describe your work experience and how it has influenced your career aspirations. (Please limit to 200 words.)
2. Please upload a W-2 or a pay stub with a December year-to-date earning-statement to verify your work experience.
JHS Seniors:
Delta Theta Chi Sorority, national non-collegiate educational sorority, is accepting applications for three(3) scholarships in the amount of 1600.00 each.
Requirements call for student to reside in the United States, have a high scholastic average, show evidence of financial need, and planning to enroll in an accredited college. All applications must be completed and returned directly to local chapter(see MR. Moses for address to send completed forms).
Applications must be postmarked by February 1.
