STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. We are working on getting a grant approved to bring robotics to Jones STEM. Should we get the grant, our STEM students will be building a FIRST Robotics Pushbot; that includes construction, wiring, and setting up wireless systems. While this year will be a sort of practice run, we hope to begin going to competitions in the coming years. For the rest of the semester, we will do various Physics and Math experiments designed to challenge and require creative thinking. Students will also get an introduction to Engineering - we’ll see what kinds of careers are available, learn the basics of design, and more.
